Professor Cathy N. Davidson to be honored by Council of Colleges of Arts and Sciences Annual Award.
The Council of Colleges of Arts and Sciences—an organization made up of 1,900 Arts and Sciences deans around the U.S.—will bestow the 2021 Advocacy Award on HASTAC’s cofounder and codirector, Cathy N. Davidson, Distinguished Professor of English and the MA in Digital Humanities and MS in Data Analysis and Visualization, and Founder of the Futures Initiative at the Graduate Center, City University of New York. The award is given to individuals and institutions “in recognition of their exemplary advocacy for the arts and sciences, flowing from a deep commitment to the intrinsic worth of liberal arts education.” Past recipients include Beverly Daniel Tatum, Martha Nussbaum, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, ACLS, and Phi Beta Kappa.
Davidson will be keynoting the annual CCAS conference, “Reconnect, Reimagine, Recalibrate,” to be held in Portland, Oregon, November 10-13, 2021. You can find more information about the CCAS conference here.
